Topic: zero suit samus

my last print was about 20 cm high and i wanted to go bigger!

so here is my latest print:

http://i.imgur.com/jrZE513.jpg

Samus Aran from the metroid video game series only without her armor

she is standing a nice 27CM tall! and consists of 11 parts and took about 13 hours to print

i finally discovered KISSlicer and for me it works a LOT better than sli3cer or skeinforge
with 5 percent infill each part took a little more than 1 hour to print but if i used sli3er or skeinforge it would have taken more than 3.5 hours for some parts and 2/3 more plastic because it went crazy with almost solid infill for no reason
and the support is great, it starts with lines far away to conserve plastic but a couple of layers before its time to "support" it becomes  more tight so there is enough ground to support on

i would recommend KISSlicer, it does not have the amount of option as skeinforge but its easy to understand and it slices a lot faster than sli3er and has a nice preview window
and it works perfectly with repetier host

lets see who i will print next smile

Re: zero suit samus

very nice... it's a pity that for this size, there is a lack of polygons... acetone vapor to remove the 'faceted' aspect ? wink

Re: zero suit samus

yes it is a little "flat"
next time il probably smooth the model out with a subdivision before printing and some sanding smile
im not really into acetone wink
