Topic: Printing a backup 3D printer

Once I'd got my solidoodle 3, one of the first things I wanted to do was make sure I'd still have a 3D printer even if it broke. At first I thought about just printing spares of the 3D printed parts, but this has quickly morphed into building an entire back-up printer.

Does anyone else print sets of spare parts in case their printer breaks?

I have exactly the same plan for my printer.

Re: Printing a backup 3D printer

I designed and printed some y-brackets and a few other things after I saw people having them break but have not had any parts break....yet wink however since ABS glues easily and strong the more I think about it I probably wouldn't do it again other than for the neatness factor.
