Topic: First Object

First test object. No calibration yet. The symbol on the money clip didn't come out good but I have not calibrated and may of made the symbol too round and small for it to handle well. All in all not awful, but needs work.

Re: First Object

Not bad. With calibration you will achieve much success. An issue with the symbol on the side is that gravity is not your friend. With no support, your overhand will droop a little. This will make it difficult to print fine details accurately. If you could indent the symbol instead of extrude it you might have better results.

Re: First Object

Good idea on indenting it. I found the moneyclip on thingaverse and added a symbol in blender after rounding the bevel of the symbol. I may try the version I did on tinkercad which likley made a lot less facets to the symbol because it is not rounded.

I had trouble with the first layers sticking but I have a 6x6 (SD2) peice of glass and hairspray to try. Too bad I need to go to work today lol

Re: First Object

Wow great first print,  I was impressed with mine but it had all sorts of bad,  mostly because the guide on the back of the extruder wasn't  tight enough so it bounced around creating all sorts of weird

Re: First Object

That print is pretty good for no calibration. Once you get the extruder calibrated and put that glass on your prints will be soo much better. Mine sticks great with hairsrpay and the bed set at 95c.
