That article is what id call: "Writing a news story about something totally not news worthy, while hoping to ride the wave of ignorance about the danger of 3d printed plastic toy guns".

A 3D printed knife is much more deadly than a 3D printed gun. And don't get me started on 3D printed slingshots, spears and clubs.

well you just need an iron tube and a bit of imagination to create a weapon, there is no need of a 3d printer !!
