Topic: Othermill

I know it's not a 3D printer, but close enough:

It's a milling machine, originally intended for PCB milling, work area 4x5x2 inches, small footprint (10x10x10), cost 1400$.

Looks really cool, what do you think? I've been looking for something like this in this price range for a while, do you know of any other similar machines?

Re: Othermill

I have a Taig which I was going to recommend, but looking at the site, they've gone up in price a bit since I ordered, putting it at quite a bit more than this one.  Still a very good, compact mill, though.

Check out http://www.shapeoko.com/  project.  It is a full CNC machine that does anything under 12" x 12" x 3".  Cost for complete kit with tools is $599.00  from http://www.inventables.com/  and look under machines.
