Topic: gunparts cleaning brush for cleaning the extruder gear

I have 2 brushes I use for cleaning the extruder gear one Nylon and one Bronze.
They are like a toothbrush on one end and a real small brush on the other.
They work great.

I was considering designing the next mk extruder to have section that clamps a toothbrush for constant filament drive cleaning.

I wonder how well it would work?

I feed the filament thru a dremel felt polishing wheel.

this sort of interdental brushe (for large hole) work very very well to clean the extruder gear

Maybe find a way to open, minimize the size/weight & hard wire a vibrating (or agitating) head toothbrush, so it isn't just dragging on the gear, but actively knocking particles loose. Add in a small vacuum line with an old keyboard vacuum (hard wired) on the other end & no more dirty gear.

No trees were harmed in the creation of this email, though some electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
