Topic: filiment tangle (any suggestions)

this is the 3rd toll from Octave and and they keep tangling
I am thinking of cutting 12" diameter lexan disk for each side.
does anyone have a better way.

I have had similar problems with tightly wound filament. I used a piece of wire, wound on each axle and over the top of the reel to act as a bail to hold the filament in place. Worked great....

I had this issue with my octave in the normal mounted position.  I made a derivative of cmetzel's design that you are using to stop it for me.

I took a lower tech way of doing it.

I used wire loops.
