Topic: new nozzle
An observation , I see that on SD spare parts page , its a .40mm nozzle now. I wonder why? Is that the new norm?

Yeah they said that SD is getting changed to .4mm standard.
Doesn't plug as easily, easier to machine, faster printrates
I am guessing this is a move to combat the amount of problems people have with clogging and other related filament extruder problems... either that or they just got a real good deal on a bunch of .4 tips ![]()
I just ordered a new hotend, hope it comes with new .40mm nozzle.
I think someone rounded up.
SD Support confirmed in another thread, they have as of this Monday, switched to 0.4mm nozzles to work better with Laywoo etc and to hopefully alleviate clogs due to a small nozzle size. The hot-ends and 'newly built' printers will ship with 0.4mm as well. I'm guessing if it was assembled last week though, you'll still have a 0.35mm nozzle.
Will be interested to see how/if this impacts .1mm or less printing .
I wonder if there will be a note in the box so people can set up their slicer properly.
