Topic: New scara 3d printer prototype

Hello everybody. This is my first post here. Great forum.

I want to share with you a little adventure that started a few months ago:  the development of a new  Scara type 3d printer.
I call it (for now) the S-Maker.

The aim is to build one desktop robotic arm 3d printer that is simple, parametric, compact and appealing.

It has moved for the first time recently, using a unmodified marlin firmware: youtube.com/watch?v=bEMpOPl52wI

This looks intruiging what would be the price point you are looking for with this.

Very interesting.

I echo the above question. Will you be using crowd sourcing to fund production or it this a one off?

Looks like arms flex will be a big challenge, how will you keep it rigid but light?

The arms are fairly rigid, they only flex a bit when force is aplied on the head vertex.

For my surprise, its the whell at the base of the arms that gives (flex) first.

But i can't say if they are rigid  enought for 3d printing . I'll have to conduct more tests.

My imediate goal (now) is the  firmware alteration (marlin) - i need to adapt it to the polar geometry.
