Topic: My first Solidoodle print!

Lots of photos here: mixeeme.tumblr.com/post/47202302613/mix … lidoodle-2

Started with a small cartoon figurine. The printer actually works pretty well, haven't had too much of a problem setting it up. The details were ok.. will try again on a 0.1mm or 0.2mm z-height setting.

What was really painful was remove all the supports! Open to any suggestions on how to make the supports less dense or maybe just removing it alltogether and seeing what happens...?

Re: My first Solidoodle print!

mmm try to print it without support with 3 perimeters (dont forget to choose  "print order  - inner perimeter - outer perimeter - infill " at 0.2mm) and stay around 30 mm/s for your speed (or 50% of the speed with repetier host speed slider if you don't want to play with the parameters)

i think it will pass ... even more if you have reduced the original size (the problem here is more the heat ..)

Re: My first Solidoodle print!

I'm using KISSlicer/Pronterface. Repetier Host crashes on my computer.

There's a support "Inflate" setting on KISSlicer, should I set that to 3?

I can set the speed to 30m/s, but I don't see a place in the KISSlicer preference where I can specify printer order.

Re: My first Solidoodle print!

ok.. kissslicer is a bit more tricky but better for this case... i'm not in front of my home computer... i will be back at home in 1 hours and i can help you on this...

no.. inflate is for the raft (named GRID in kissclicer, a special layer to "fix in place" the model...)

in kissclicer, perimeter = number of loop (under skin thickness)
set a skin thickness of 1mm
layer thickness of 0.2 (instead of 0.3..)

infill : something  around 0.12

for the print order it's a check box named : loop go from inside to perimeter (check it, and check also de-string)
