Trying a second time to post this. My neighbor has two small children, so they made them a swing by attaqching both ends of a chain to a tree limb, and putting a piece of carpet at the bottom loop for a seat. Ouch! I made this modification.

The part does not support any weight, as the chain runs under the board. All the part does is keep the board from flipping over, or slipping off the chain, so there should be very little force involved.
I see now, hard to tell from the pics. Hope the kids are having a good time!
