Topic: Brother DCP-T720DW Driver Installed but Printer Not Detected

Hi everyone
I'm trying to get my Brother DCP-T720DW working with Windows 11 but I can't seem to get it working. The printer turns on, USB connect works, but still Windows doesn't register the printer during setup.
First I got the official driver that Brother offers:
https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloa … t720dw_all
Installing the driver went smooth, no error messages, but still no printer showing up in the Printers & Scanners list. Sometimes, on seeing the Device Manager, I catch a glimpse of an Unknown USB Device and the Brother setup tool keeps telling No Compatible Machine Found.
Then I tried to get another driver package from:
https://printerdrivers.com/brother-dcp-t720dw-driver/
But again the same scenario. Installation goes, but still Windows isn't finding the printer.
i have tried
Resetted both my computer and the printer
Switched USB ports and used different cables
Taken off the driver and installed again
Set the installer to run as Administrator
Checked through Windows Update if any other drivers are available

Has anybody else had the same confusion with the Brother DCP-T720DW? Perhaps a certain driver version, a firmware update, or a method of installation was the solution to the problem "printer not detected"?
Thanks in advance for your help!
