Topic: holy spirit -dove
juts finished last challenge i came across.. to repalce a missing dove from a statue representing the holy spirit...
*first i model a dove in zbrush using zspheres. with the plugin decimation master reduce the polygon count to somenthing that could be easily handle...
*export to cinema 4d (which STL export features are really good)and "boolean" the piece in the way was going to be printed..and export the STL file
*load the STL files in the 3d printer software and set up a some what slow speed....
* then i just sat and watch the dove being printed... and as the extruder came to the narrow parts, i gradually reduce the speed to let the PLA become solid and avoid what i refer to the "jelly effect"...
*after that ,just some glue and sand on the pieces and tara!(?)
i learned that the fan most be on in order to cool the PLA better... and standing next to the printer blowing at the extruder makes u look dumb.... also if glue and sand properly ,,, u cant hardly see the joint(?) line where the pieces come togher---
thanks for any tips and advices...
cheers!
