Topic: Suddenly printed model is streched

Now and then i notice one of my printers FLYINGBEAR GHOST prints model stretched on Y axis.
At times it prints normal but sometimes for no reason at all it prints stretched.

I measured the motion and instead of 10mm it moves 14mm+.
I double checked the steps all good.
I tried reflash firmware, no help since steps are not controlled in firmware but in LCD controller.
Is it bad stepper controller ?
I am getting tired of replacing them lol.

Re: Suddenly printed model is streched

Found the problem LOL.
After swapping stepper controllers nothing changes so i look at the belt.
Belt overlapped the spool and it changed the diameter when i was replacing the carriage.
rookie mistak

just an FYI - all the info that you can access on the LCD is loaded there by the firmware, so yes, steps ARE initially set in the firmware.

but yeah, a misaligned belt can have some interesting effects. glad you found it
