Topic: Buying Plastic & Plastic Costs

I was wondering what brands of ABS plastic are considered appropriate and sanctioned for Solidoodle printers? I think the site currently just has white and some primary colors. Are there recommended retailers out there? Do they have translucent varieties?

When printing how do I know how much plastic was used in the making of an object, and how can I determine what the exact cost was of creating it?

1.) Any 1.75mm filament. Some is better than others. Read reviews.
2.) Slic3r/skeinforge tells you.
3.) See 2.), along with the density of ABS and some basic math.

In slic3r after slicing you will see the length at the end
I than use 3d print calculator.
