Topic: Difficulty inserting Davinci Pro 1.0 printer head assembly

I had a print fail yesterday resulting in a nasty nozzle clog.  In order in clear the clog I had to remove the print head assembly and heat the nozzle with a small handheld butane torch.  I then use the little metal rod that came with my printer and insert that into the nozzle from the filament side which quite easily pushes any remaining filament out and sucessfully clears the nozzle.  I then use a .40 nozzle needle and run thru the nozzle cleaning it out.  (This has been successful in clearing my nozzle several times, if anyone knows of a better way, let me know but this seems to work great for me!)

The issue lies when I go to replace the print head assembly.  I think I’ve had it out probably three times now and every time it’s been a bear trying to get it back in.  I put the bottom in first, and then try to swing the top in, but the metal bracket on the top of the assembly hits the metal braket on the printer where the little spout is located.  It’s almost like there’s not quite enough room for the head assembly to fit.  I almost didn’t get it in the other two times I had it out and quite frankly don’t know how I did.  I’ve even removed both side covers and both top covers to give me better access and still can’t seem to get enough room.

Has anyone else ran into this before?  Any ideas?

Re: Difficulty inserting Davinci Pro 1.0 printer head assembly

Just an update for anyone that’s read this, I finally got it figured out.  My bracket was bent slightly and that’s why I had such a hard time trying to get my cartridge assembly back in.  It’s actually very soft metal and really easy to bend.  Once I gently bent it back into shape the cartridge went back in and now comes in and out easily.
