Oh, I am only looking at UK only, no international, etc. Mainly the shipping costs kill anything like that.
I looked up the price in the UK and the majority of prices are up in the £70 to £100
I am finding UK prices very expensive, which is why I am asking if £49 is a fair price considering that I have even seen in the link to the Kapton tape sources, the price is still well above the £70 mark for same width.
I would normally buy a bix, stick a few rolls on eBay and they would very likely sell at that price + shipping in the UK, however, eBay has changed over the last couple of months. I sold regular items on ther like the M5 T-Nuts (drop in type) that I bought by accident a larger number than I thought, one blurry medicated evening, good job it wasn't 1,000 I was ordering or I would have 10,000 of the bloody things to get rid of.
So they were selling up until around May like all the other new 3D Printer stuff I purchased to get a look at like some RAMPS boards, a few TFT's and other Arduino / Sparkfun type Nano Arduinos and a 2560 board and so on, I got lots of bit, some of them I don't need, some were bargains when I bought them.
My nuts sold really well until around may and then in June I noted that eBay had been sending me emails about things in my basket.
So I thought that it was maoning about when am I going to cough up the £20K and ignored them, one rainy boring day, I opened one, well tell a lie, it was hot, humid, I was sweatting more than a 20 Stone walrus in the everglades sat infront of my fan on full blast, only thing missing was wildlife.
To my horror, as this had implications and the whole gold bar fell, don't know about the penny. They were telling me, Dear Mark,
We notice that you have this in your basket at £ xx.xx
Well we thought we would gazump this seller and offer you this seller instead at a whole £1.05 cheaper in the hope that it will stimulate sales faster because we're a greedy money grabbing sales platform that don't care squat about if you sell as long as we get our pound of flesh by end of business day.
Kind Regards
The eBay "ring reamer" team
... and you get the picture.
I had amassed a few pieces, accidental wins at auction as in at real auction where a nod, wink, cough, fart , ball scratch, nose rub, ear pull and weird look can get you a bid, trust me I know, I have bid aginst myself on many occasions now.
So this stuff, most of it brand new from chain store closures, I am talking USB bluetooth keyboards, Apple keyboards and covers, kit that I got for a song, like £20 to £30 + VAT and taxes, stuff valued at retail in stors for over £100 a pop, so I was selling at half price and stuff was wizzing out and I was chuffed, I was getting rid of stuff I accidentally bought and over bid on and so on, stuff I was interested in but then changed my mind and was landed with it.
All that has changed now because eBay are more interested in developing its platform for business users and its leaving its joe public, those who made the company behind, first split was all business users would have to use a different banking system than paypal, then more changes and then suddenly, I went from £100 a month to £10 a month if I am lucky.
So here I am with all sorts of stuff, need it gone, out the way as I do now need the space for my other interests, namely 3D and Youtube (my son wants to start a channel so I will be helping him)
Anyway, back on topic, the problem is price of stuff, eBay, leaving a sour taste in my mouth that lot are... Really cr*ppy thing to do to people.
Its one reason I asked who the boss was and I sent an IM to them but got no response, so I am a bit reluctant to post stuff here without some sort of blessing of some sort from the Don.
IDK how many UK users see this forum, I veered well away from the fanboy sites and found that there are a lot of sites out there that are sadly in the realms of abandonment, forget dormant, they may as well turn archive mode on.
So anyway, here I am, stuck with lots of M5 T nuts.
I am in need of Kapton of the huge variety, a very rare and expensive commodity in the UK given prices you get quoted. So anyone wanting to know more can IM me or register interest in the thread.
I'd be sticking with eBay as the platform so there will be no doubt about my authenticity in this.
UK only, if I know you are buying from a link I sent in an IM, then I will bump to 1st class and not usual 2nd Class registered post, some items are sent post as they are easily posted in regular mail.
Latest addition to the pack, not yet listed, credit card fresnel lens magnifiers, now take your ant burning in your school purse... 2 for £1, 2nd class post, UK ONLY
I am open to suggestions as well, within the realms of decency and political correctness, so no pictures of me butt naked holding a sign with an arrow pointing to the bottom and saying, "really..! is this the best you can do?"
Bob's your uncle (and likely your father too...)
I laughed that hard, I burst my colostomy bag.... (When I got my GeeeTech Pi3 ProB)
