Topic: Mini W vs Mini W+
Just noticed the new Black Mini W+. Does anyone know what the Black Mini W+ adds above the Orange Mini W. Tried calling and the moron said the W+ adds wireless printing.

The W+ has a touch screen LCD that the Orange does not have. So you can operate the printer completely free of a PC if needed.
Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Seriously? Can not see the touch screen LCD from the picture, it will be great if it does.
all difference I can see from specification is
1. Different color
2. Support for PTEG/tough PLA. (Although I think people are printing PTEG/tough PLA on orange mini W anyway)

There is no screen? Besides the color and the W+ name on the front cover, the only other thing I can see are the holes in the housing in the front upper left corner.

Sorry the thumbnail I saw made the warning label look like a screen. Honestly if yours is working then why upgrade? The newest is not always the best.

I didn't say I was upgrading or getting rid of mine? I asked if anyone knew what the difference was with this newer model. It appears you don't know.

I do believe they are the exact same printer the red/black W+ is merely a refresh of the model. I don't know if there are significant improvements internally or not but the Orange seems to be an earlier version of the Mini W/W+ printers.

There definently different, the w+ has a different machine tag. I’m curious about that grill but in one of the online pictures it looks like you can see right through it so I suspect it is just a vent for the hot end when it is parked at the top.
My hope is that the + stands for better WiFi support but it could be anything.

On Amazon they are sold as the same item merely different colors. I own the Mini W+ and the holes are just a vent for the fan when in resting position.
Visually though they are so damn the same. lol

Thanks for the confirmation that they are just holes. I thought they installed a speaker there or relocation mainboard and put cooling fan at that spot, but sadly it is just holes. I'm going to drill holes on my Mini W so that it will become a Mini W+, lol.

6 weeks later, finally an official response. Not entirely complete but official nonetheless:
The only change the W+ brings is a new WiFi module to help connect faster.
