Anyone got any inside information?  I'm curious what could be so historic...

Getting listed on the NYSE...

Going to lose the 'doodle' part of the company name...

Lowering the price by 50 percent smile

Hmmm. anyone got any better ideas smile

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

From the past announcements I guess it's some partnership or international redistributors or so... I don't expect anything world-shattering from a technological point-of-view (but it's just speculation).

Maybe President Obalma has ordered tens of thousands of them for all schools in the U.S. to promote innovation?

Ian suggested Resindoodle on FB.  smile

I'm hoping it's official dual extruder with soluable support.

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

None of these things would be "historic" IMHO as these technologies already exist, even at a consumer level...

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

It's not morning in NYC anymore, what's the announcement?

Sadly, nope. Expect an official Press release at some point or another, but there is nothing earth shattering going on.... yet.

I thought you were telling the media this morning, didn't that happen?

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

Keep in mind that in PR speak, Historic = mildly interesting.  They already mentioned international distribution, hopefully that wasn't all of it.  It's semi historic I guess, Makerbot doesn't have that, not sure if BFB did before they got bought.  Up! does, I believe Afinia is the domestic version of that one.

Something technological would be nice however, like the espresso attachment powered by the extruder heater.  Just add something in the end.gcode to have it pull a shot after printing the demitasse, and keep it warm with the heated platform.  Or maybe some cocoa, mixed with a retractable z-probe/stirrer and some XY movement.

I would be throwing money at the screen, but that might seem a bit awkward here in the office.

Don't forget the foam bubbler attachment.

I've always wanted to lay down some tinfoil on the HBP and scramble some eggs while I wait for 95C.  I've read that somewhere between 70C and 71C they start to firm up.

Scrambledoodle?  Historic enough for you?

Here's a "brilliant" idea to go with the eggs:  Use the SD as is (maybe with after cleaning the nozzle) to burn custom images into toast!  I might actually go try this one.

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

You could mount a paste extruder and make a PancakeDoodle.  Actually CNC pancakes have been done, out of lego.

I'd probably add a chocolate chip dispenser.

Also, a bacon dispenser. Aw yes, BreakfastDoodle.

Slow down, I can't write the patent applications this fast..

Re: What's the historic announcement - anyone?

I don't believe a pancake is worth making if it doesn't have chocolate chips in it.

As long as you give me a bit of credit for the name.

I can see it now, wake up to freshly printed Pancakes and bacon, and a hot cup of coffee. Then it proceeded to self-level, and prints my product I dreamt up during my slumber.
