Topic: Apple Mac software and Firmware 2.3.5
Hi people. Apologies if this has been posted before. This relates to Apple Mac not Widows.
I have some coded tags but although the software read the tag and correctly identified the colo(u)r and capacity, the latest XYZmaker.app and XYZware.app both identified the filament as non-original and decided it only had 0% on the reel and wouldn't print. Nag messages about buying new filament etc.
Transferring the print file via an SD card worked OK and it would print.
I was looking again today at XYZmaker and noticed a plug-in called XYZprint Plugin under the File menu. I dived into the Mac bundle for the application and it seems XYZprint is a standalone program that is called from XYZmaker. I pulled this app, called XYZprint.app to my applications and this seems to run just fine on its own, it sees the reel and the remaining capacity rather than 0%. I denied XYZprint.app access to the internet and it still works, no web page popups, no sending stats to XYZ and no nag screens. As a bonus it also has a viewer so you can scroll through the G-Code layers.
Right click XYZmaker.app, show package contents and fish out XYZprint.app.
