Topic: 1st layer offset on the horizontal axis

I have been printing with cura and threedub for over a year now with my da Vinci jr and have had no problems. Recently I have noticed that the first layer is offset by a few millimeters. It sticks down fine but the next layer is a decent bit to the left messing up the print. I was wondering if anybody knew what was up. Thanks

Re: 1st layer offset on the horizontal axis

It is layer shift. Can be caused by many small things. But if it only shift once and it is the first layer, most common cause is over extrusion or object is bigger or outside printable area. The later happens to me before, although your print seemed small. Anyway, observe first layer printing and see if it attempt to print outside of printable area. Da Vinci Jr. Print bed along Y axis seems longer than the printable area. If you slice with cura and threedub, make sure to calibrate the printable area.
