Topic: Broken heater cartridge wire

Be careful cleaning the extruder head as the stainless steel heater cartridge wire can be broken off and can not be solder back on
and Da Vinci is not providing a replacement part. But it is a 12v 40watt 6mm x 20mm heater cartridge can be replaced with "Reprap 12V 40W Ceramic Cartridge Heater 6*20 For 3D Printer Prusa Mendel for less than $2.00. on ebay. You must keep the original wiring as you will have to "crip" it to the NEW CARTRIDGE.

Does it matter which way you solder the wires -/+ or since its a continues circuit it doesn't matter? Thanks!

It doesn't matter for the heating element and themostates. But it matters for hotend fan.

They are actually called thermistors Yishou. Just so you can start using the correct term.

A thermostat actually has the capability to control a system that changes temp.

While a thermistor is simply a device that converts temperature to resistance which allows a device like a thermostat to measure the temperature.

When I type in thermistors, system always give me red underline suggest spelling mistake, only after I change to thermostat the spelling check will pass. So I never be able to type in thermistors correctly. (Still gives me spelling mistake indication.)

You honestly think your spell checker has every word in the English dictionary? I'm sorry to break it to you but there are many technical words it does not have.

Underlined words mean two things. One the word  is spelled wrong or two the word is not in your spell checkers data base.

In that case when you know it is a real word and spelled correctly, just right click on it and select ADD to dictionary.

Thermistor is underlined for me as well. But a quick jump to google will always tell you the truth.
