Topic: Get filastruder motor elsewhere ?

$82 at least with shipping is a bit too steep for me so i wondered if such can be found elsewhere ?
After countless minutes of ebay search, i found that i cannot find it by the specs nor by the words used in here
https://www.filastruder.com/products/ge … 8709800900

How ever, i was able to find few of the 5RPM version on ebay by searching for
"12v silver gearbox reduction motor" (there will be mostly wrong results but few are there)

Is there another place where i can find those ?
Do they have a model number ?
Clearly GF45 stands for nothing.

OR MAYBE
get a complitely different motor with about the same torque (or half of that is find in my opinion there is no  need for high torque) with 16RPM or higher ? Given the ability to control speed with typical speed controllers i'd say stock motor can go to rest.

Its not about cheap. I want higher RPM even if it has less torque.
Torque does not seem to be an issue for me as it is for some (maybe) because i can spin the thing with hand drill no problem.

Re: Get filastruder motor elsewhere ?

I'll admit - I went looking once.  You can find Chinese listings that LOOK like they might work - but the problem is they seem to be supplier listings rather than 'I have this motor I want to sell.' Eg it's 'I want to sell you 100 of this motor'.  When you find one that will do a 1 off sale you'll find similar pricing except with a 1-2 month lead time thanks to seemingly endless 'delays' that happen with anything coming from China.

To me it's better time spent to find a plastic that nobody has done a review on, spend however long it takes to get it to work, then write up a review on what works with it (this PETG is great - I'm not making ABS again until I run out of this stuff), what doesn't (you can print polypropylene on plastic packing tape, but there doesn't appear to be any benefit unless you got a great deal on PP pellets), etc.  Also - more fun to do it that way than trying to decipher mostly Chinese webpages - maybe you'll discover a new favorite resin type to use - the new MG94 equivalent of PETG that does bridging better than most or something like that.  See: http://www.soliforum.com/topic/7406/sto … t-reviews/

Have you thought about trying to retrofit a larger stepper motor on there?  Imagine if you had a digital thickness gauge monitoring diameter, and an Arduino adjusting speed of the motor on the other end?
