Topic: [2.0 DUO] shifted print

Hay

I'm thrying to print the attached file. I sliced it with Slic3r.
In the octopi Gcode viewer i checked and nothing strange.
But when i print the file a little over half way the print shifts like 5mm
WTH can anyone tell me what the printer is thinking?

Looks to me like a stepper driver or motor over heating. You could try opening the back of the printer and put a fan of any size so it blows on the main board. If it prints longer then it is hot driver. On my 1.0 I had to cut a hole in the back cover and install a 6 inch fan to blow on the board.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Also check that the belts are tight, and try slowing down the print speed and/or turning down the acceleration.

Re: [2.0 DUO] shifted print

I was printing at 120% speed.
I dialled it back to 110% and opened up the back and stuck a fan in front to blow air into it.
It fixed the problem.
Then i set the speed back to 120% and tried again.
Also success.

I grepped an old 12volt case fan and want to mount it to the lid.
But i'm wondering where it the best spot to get the power from.
Is there a good spot to connect the fan.
Maybe where it will be switched on and off

The power supply is the box to the lower right. Any of the yellow wires coming from it are 12VDC and the black ones are ground of course. In this machine all the 12 volt lines are on when the PSU is on and off when it is off. If you want to control it you will need to install your own switch near the fan. I would suggest just to let it run all the time as it will keep the board running cooler in general.

The large white connector middle left also is 12 volts and ground supply for the board. A fan could be tapped in there as well.

Those 3 chips to the left of the sd card and under them are also 3 chips. Are those the driver chips?
I has some left over small heatsinks for a raspberry pi, will the help even more with the fan
