Guys,
Just wondering how you guys load 1kg rolls of filament into the Da Vinci Jr.? My rolls wont fit.
I think I know the answer, re-reel the filament onto the existing xyz reel or rig up an outside feeding system.
Im just wanting ideas as to how some of you guys do it.
No, you do not have to re-reel the filament. Just print a spool holder from Thingiverse that goes on the outside of your printer and use it. You will have to drill a small hole in the side to feed the filament through, but it owrks great.
Do you have any problem with the filament snagging? Just wondering if you had any issues because of the angle the filament is in?
Ahh I found the filament holder as well as the NFC tag with tube on thingiverse. Thank you Bozo for all your help!
Bozo do you remember what the little tag was called on Thingiverse you used to put your sticker nfc tags on? Its something you print that is the same size as the nfc tags in the orignial da vinci reels.

Awesome thank you sir. One quick question. In another post you told someone to just change the following data on the paper tags.
PAGE 08: 5A 50 57 00
PAGE 09: 00 35 34 50
PAGE 10: E0 93 04 00
PAGE 11: E0 93 04 00

PAGE 21: A8 81 36 54
PAGE 22: F0 3F EE CE

Along with the password and pack data.
Are these the only "pages" I have to change when I program a paper tag?
Im using a phone and will have to put in the data by hand for each page and then it writes it to the tag one page at a time.

Yes but, you need to put the correct data in page 8 to adjust the temperature for the filament. That one is set for 210°. if you wnat 191° it would be 5A 50 5A 00 and 200° would be 5A 50 4B 00.
For paper tags you also have to set the password and pack code in order for it to work. The default password should be FF FF FF FF, use that to make the changes with.
The brand filament I use I also set my other printers to 210 degress so this is good for me. Once again thank you!
One other question. I dont have to use the online software to find the password for the paper tags? I can just use FF FF FF FF? Or once I find out the paper tags password using the online software, change the password of the paper tag via the pages to FF FF FF FF?
NO, You have to update the password and pack code with the online information or the printer will not recognize it.
Do I need to use a different pack code for each tag?
Now you need to read the threads. I cannot repeat everything that is in here multiple times. You will find all of the rest of the answers here.
Also after I program the paper tag I read it and the only value not showing anything is 2B. Should it show FFFFFFFF or will it just be 00000000? I have written that value, FFFFFFFF to 2B but it just doesnt seem to be there.
@Bozotclown1970 Thank you I went back and have done like you said. I followed these instructions...
1: Get password by entering the UID in the NFCkey wen site
2: Enter the desired length in pages 10(0A), 11(0B) and 20(14) of tag,21(15),22(16),23(17)
3: Enter the password from NFCket web page in page 43(2B) of tag
4: Enter Pack Code from NFCkey web page in page 44(2C) of tag
5: Write tag with Ardoid.

The app I use on my phone I do line by line so I put the pack code in first and the password in last. So that I could still use the FF FF FF FF password to write to those to locations. Still I get unidentified spool. Im attaching photos of the data I get back from the paper tag when I read it after making these changes. The main question I have is when I read it should I be seeing 2B and 2C? 
As I have told many people, I do not have an NFC capable phone so I cannot help you with this.

Using an original tag with the android app that I have refilled multiple times and still works fine with my Jr. shows "00000000" for 2B and does not show page 2C at all. I also have values in pages 0C, 0D, 0E and 11, not "00000000". Try setting everything to the values in the image from this instructable and see if if works. Obviously change password and pack to match.
I know what you are saying, but what version of firmware do you have? The tag information I provided is from a working tag in my JR.
@MTWallet Thanks for the feedback. I have a tag from a fresh roll of black 200 meter filament and the next step I was going to do is use that to program my paper tags. The problem I am running into is that I dont really have a way of testing the tags except putting them into the 3D printer. If they dont work then that tag became useless until the printer goes over 100 tags or at least thats what I read in the forums. I have already went through five tags and just dont want to go through all my tags until I can figure this out.

OK, I don't think you've read qiote far enough, but I believe you problem is the way you are entering the Pack Code on page 2B. I looks to me like you are entering 00 00 30 1F and you should be entering 30 1F 00 00.
