Topic: da Vinci Mini - LED lights

Did anybody solve inner LED lights of printing space for da Vinci Mini? Is it possible to connect  to 12V somewhere inside printer and use printer power source? I don't want to use external adapter.

Thanks for any ideas...

I think it is easier just to buy 24V led lights and wire to main power supply, you may want to add a manual switch on the shell

Re: da Vinci Mini - LED lights

Does the Jr have a 24 volt supply? My 1.0 had a 12, 5, and 3.3 volt supply. It seems odd they would put a 24 volt in a much smaller printer.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Nope, Jr. have 12V power supply. It is odd that mini have 24V power supply, I googled multiple website to make sure. I thought Jr. and mini use same motherboard, clear that is not the case.

Looks good.

But, anyone have designed a cover to sear the front and back of the mini to block the noise? Case fan sharing same power source will be good.

Re: da Vinci Mini - LED lights

Mini has no 12V inside. If you have two 12V LEDs, just connect them in series so they need 24V.
The fan runs on 24V. I used to have LEDs close to the nozzle, but I found no good place to put them.  Even tried to have a strip on the underside of the beam, but they got killed by the heat from the bead. Now I have a strip to the right of the table so I can see when the nozzle prints. Not as beautiful as the picture above, but I find it very useful. smile

Here is where I put my LEDs.  They let me check that the filament sticks to the bed.

Re: da Vinci Mini - LED lights

Do you need to install it on both sides to be able to see it clearly?
