It's already well known that the XYZ scanner technology is garbage. So $1200 for a single head printer is steep. Not to mention you have to pay extra for the engraver head as well. For that price you can get a much better fully open source system that allows full access to firmware and all settings.

I guess if you just want to print and go then you might be willing to spend that much however.

Help me to understand here, XYZprinting sale it for $699, newegg sale it for $599, why people want to buy the >$1100 same model?

It's simple. There are a surprising amount of people who don't know how to shop and will take any price presented to them.
