Topic: Recent Prints

Printed the V8 and it looks amazing! Runs very smooth.Total print time on that was about 5 hours in 3 different prints. The pencil/pen holder was done in 4 hours, 19 minutes and 55 seconds! Thought that was a hint from my printer, so I gladly obliged ;-)

Nice prints!

Re: Recent Prints

Very nice prints.  Must have done a lot of calibration and fixes.

Re: Recent Prints

Thanks to both of you! But I've only done some calibration from Ian's blog. I did a half ass version of the extruder calibration, and then printed the z nut hugger, or whatever it was called! And also the no cone thumbscrews for the bed leveling. I was never even able to update my chip because my SD2 shipped with the chip that couldn't be updated, and SD never sent me a new one. I use Repetier Host to change my e steps/mm, and since changing that to about 85 I think i'm at now, every print has been beautiful. I really like this printer!

Re: Recent Prints

Wow that artsy pink panther woman is an impressive print, your settings look pretty nicely dialed in.

7

Re: Recent Prints

Some of those prints look kinda shiny. Have they been acetoned? Also what print speeds and retract settings are you using.

Re: Recent Prints

In the last two prints, no acetone vapor bath. In the first post, the v8 motor and the twisted pen holder did have a few minutes in the paint can.

Another success in sketchup for my feeble brain, the 1911.
And the Pink Panther Woman had a bath! She caught the vapors!
...couldn't decide between puns, so I used both.

Re: Recent Prints

Printed the V8 Replicator edition, scaled down to .6 to fit the bed of the SD2. It works well!

Re: Recent Prints

switching filaments and everything!  What brand are you using here?

Re: Recent Prints

The 5 spools I have are from Octave via amazon dot com. I have no issues with the filament, even the black, other than it's so tightly wound, you have to babysit it...or else!
