Topic: XYZ Sale

Hey everyone,

If you're looking for your first 3D printer or looking to add to your collection, there is a slew of 3D printers currently on sale from XYZprinting:

da Vinci miniMaker: $179
da Vinci Jr. Pro: $299
da Vinci 1.0 Pro: $499
da Vinci Pro 3-in-1: $599
Nobel 1.0: $899

All the ones labeled "Pro" are compatible with 3rd party resins and the Nobel 1.0 is an SLA printer that is now compatible with 3rd party resins.

Hope this helps!

Re: XYZ Sale

I would not recommend any of these printers as a first printer. 2nd or 3rd for that matter.
These require expensive filament .  are not open source.
Just read the struggles of xyz owners on this forum.

Tp be fair, 4 of the 5 listed printers can use 3rd party filament/resin.
Having said that, I probably wouldn't buy any of them unless I could switch the firmware.

Re: XYZ Sale

cough cough, here I am.

I would not recommend any of these printers from XYZ for the price reason. They are expensive even on sale.

I only recommend buy Jr. from ebay or newegg at price between $100-160 when on sale and you are confident you can convert it to ramps controlled 3D printer. For that matter, not recommended for first 3D printer at all.

Buying 3D printer that use expensive filament and sometime only allow you to use half spool will effectively stop many people from consider 3D printing as hobby.

Even the Nobel 1.0? I don't think I've seen that below $1000 before. $899 for an SLA printer that can now use third party resins is pretty good, no?

Have you not seen the Wanhao D7?  It is open source and is only $600. I have one and it makes better prints than a Formlabs Form and possibly a Form 1.

Re: XYZ Sale

Not that I can afford any of these, but Wanhao Duplicator 7 is about $399 on amazon (V1.3), $530 on ebay (V1.4), resins $70/L

Nobel 1.0 is almost doubled everything.
