Topic: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

Hi!! After so much messy I switch on my extruder and at end also it was frustrating me without working properly. My PDI controller not showing any sort of digits or other words it not even displaying anything. http://soliforum.com/i/?uteYi0J.jpg

Everything like extruder Fan and motor Fan and Stall board are working well but only thing PDI is not displaying. Please let me know what is the problem and how to rectify it.

Thanks in advance.

Please check your wiring from the PID to power.

Pins 8 and 9 must be connected to SW1.

Pin 10 must be connected to ground.

Do you have a voltmeter or multimeter?

If so, please turn the main switch (SW1) on and measure the voltage from the wire going to terminals 8 and 9, and the wire going to terminal 10. Please let me know what you get.

kakarla.akesh from SoliForum - 3D Printing Community has sent you a message. You can reply to kakarla.akesh by replying to this email.

I did everything but it was still having same problem no display. Please help me out.

I'm doing my best to help you, but we need to establish that some basic things first. smile One thing I've learned is that it's always best to start simple instead of starting with the complicated things.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

Voltmeter reading for P9and 8 is zero and at 10 it was fluctuating in negative.

** when I check the Volts @ PDI 10 and main center it was 12.3V but when I changed to PD10 and 9 it was negative zero or something like -0.06 like fluctuations showing.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

Please apply the voltmeter to terminals 9 and terminals 10, as mentioned previously. The switches need to be on during this test.

Alternatively, please connect the power supply directly to terminals 9 and 10, with nothing else in the circuit, and measure the voltage on terminals 9 and 10 as well as checking if the PID controller turns on.

Also, it is a "PID" controller, not "PDI". PID stands for proportional, integral, derivative.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

In the video that you emailed, the PID controller's cover has been removed. Doing this is not part of the assembly process and may have damaged the internals of the PID controller, perhaps by the bare PCB brushing against the metal chassis for example. Please do not operate the PID controller with the cover removed.

This is good, it means that the power supply is functional and wiring to Pin 10 of the PID controller is OK.

This indicates that wiring from the main switch to pin 9 of the PID controller is not present, or is faulty.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

Sorry I assembled as per your instructions and I removed the cover after repeated trying why the display is not working. I think to check the soldering so I removed it. But it was quite good as my electrical  technicians (UNI) said it was fine with capacitors and everything. So I just approached here to find what happens exactly.

I did not kept PID into alu.chasis I just want to test run that every thing works well with electrical, motor fitting so I just assembled the main chassis parts and checked electrical connections. Hence I got the this problem later only I tried to open that cover with white bracket inside the same box.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

The PID controllers are all tested before shipment.

I suspect the PID controller has been damaged, possibly by the removal of its housing which is not part of the assembly process and voids any sort of warranty. It is possible that once the cover was removed the PID controller was damaged either physically or by shorting against something.

While we are happy to replace defective parts, we are not able to do so in this case for the above reason. Additionally defective/damaged parts need to be reported within 30 days of receipt in order to be replaced:

It looks like your shipment was delivered about 60 days ago.

If you would like to purchase a PID controller from us, you can use this link:

https://www.filastruder.com/products/other-parts

The cost is $20. This is our cost as well - we wouldn't be profiting on the replacement PID controller.

Re: ELectrical sestos PDI controller not dispalying

FYI, Also the PID is not fitting into the chassis that you supplied and there is a lot of misalignment between the outer boards with chassis basement  which making board cannot stand uniformly to pass the nuts. you missed so many stuff like bolts that required to fit the Stall protection board to backside of motor.  Washers @ wooden board b/w auger.

lol I expected the final reply may be asked to buy. Thanks for the support.

Please do provide more accurate assembly PDF then giving briefing about how to do it also a video from your side most intentional one for every product that you released.

Hope you consider!!
