Topic: Has anyone put a Mega into a Jr?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to put a mega 256 into a Jr? I see a alot of Jrs. pop up on Craigslist for cheap and it seems like a half decent chassis to do stuff to

mega 2560 is not enough, you also need ramps board

and yes you do need a ramps board a mega board , four driver chips and a handful of jumpers. these do come in kit form.

The processor on a RAMPS is a Mega2560.. Mega2560 is the generic name for the most common processor used on most printers today.

Well there are many all in one boards on the market now that combine the Arduino board and the RAMPS shield into one board now so saying the kit is not entirely accurate now either. The MEGA2560 is more accurately referred to as an Arduino board when by it's self.

I'm thinking about test out the Arduino DUE kits, the Arduino DUE board is about $9 more expensive than the Arduino MEGA2560, but speed is so much faster. And the corresponding RAMPS-FD support 6 step motors. Da Vinci 1.0 use Arduino DUE.
