Topic: Why is my printer printing worms?

This is the 3rd incident, but also the worst one.  I was trying to print a Nintendo switch grip, and it did this. The previous 2 times happened because the object was too tall compared to it's base. I tried to print it with a raft, but clearly it didn't work. Any fixes? (I do know how to clean it off)

I would guess that the Z offset is to high and the part is not sticking to the bed.

I would agree.  Look at the test strip on the right, thats not even printing well.

Is that fresh Frog's tape?  Clean it with isopropyl alcohol first.

1. Double check your filament. Are you trying to print with ABS filament on Jr.? ABS filament require heated bed.

2. If you are indeed using PLA filament, use blue tape. The one people use when they paint house. It do come with different color, but for reasons unknown, the blue color stick best.

3. double check your z offset, the nozzle should be 0.1mm-0.2mm above the bed. if space is 0.25-0.4mm, it will print normal in the beginning but unable to stick later.  if space is smaller than 0.1mm, you will have trouble to take your print off bed.

4. change blue tape every 4-5 print. also make sure soap wash your hand when apply the blue tape. sweet, lipid and grease on your hand will prevent PLA stick to blue tape.

5. google keywork ABS juice, glue stick, jello together with 3d print, many useful tips.

I totally disagree with this.  Green Frog tape has superior sticking power to the glass than blue.  W
What happened to me with blue tape is that the part would stick fine to the tape, but the tape would pull up from the bed when I would remove the finished part.
With green, it works great.  Thats my experience.  YMMV

Green is actually one of the color I did not test. I would give it a try next time. Blue tape do pull up from the bed when I remove the finished part, I often have to stick it back afterwords.
