Topic: Davinci 1.0A Kapton tape lifting during print

so for a while now ive had an issue of the print pulling up my kapton tape while printing ABS. i had been using a roll of it i got off amazon. it was a year or so old, so i figured the adhesive had a time limit on its effectiveness (which is possible, i work in aircraft industry so they test us yearly on the subject).

that being said, i bought some new sheets to try out. SAME PROBLEM.

so i started adjusting bed temps, taking big swings in temps as to shorten the test process haha

after that failed, i figured it was the new transparent filament i was using because i noticed it needed higher temps to extrude propoerly. I used some old pink filament i had, it did fine with the same part i was printing with the transparent. with the pink running low, i bought some Metalink black. It succeeded once, now it lifts my tape.

im leery of applying more adhesive while adhering the tape, because i dont want to have to scrape it off when i need to change tape.

HELP!

Hairspray is great but it is also messi. My suggestion get a sheet of Garolite. The great thing about it is that even Nylon sticks to it perfectly if you sand it with 80 grid sandpaper.

Da Vinci 1.0A Blue | Codename: FreeVinci | E3D v6 Bowden Custom Carriage | Printing PLA, ABS and PETG using S3D
Fabrikator Mini Orange | Printing PLA using Cura
Only printing with sub 20 Euro filaments.

You are supposed to spray the glass before you mount it to the bed. I have used glass and hairspray for nearly 5 years now and the only place I have had to ever clean it up from is the the glass once it gets too thick. Then I only apply a new misting about once every two months.

Thanks for the details carl.  I never saw how often  / much to use.  What kind / brand to you recommend ( i would assume that this may be regional information, but who knows)..
I am currently using 3 pieces of green frog tape to cover the bed, but would like to remove the 'tape seam impression' from the bottom of my prints so I plan on giving this a try.

Hwre in the US we use Aquanet. Maybe someone more familiar with the chemistry can tell you the important ingredients to look for if you can't get that brand.

Thanks.  I'll look for the Aquanet brand since I am in the states.
