Topic: New printer here..
Well after the y axis death, the thread lock discovery earlier this week and Amazon prime day forcing me to spend money, I decided to set my solidoodle 2 to pasture for the being and ordered a monoprice maker ultimate to see how "the kids these days print things".
So far, I have to say I'm impressed. My first print was ... successful! Circles were circles. The magic black sandpaper stuff( think it is called buildtak) actually works as advertised. I used the cura it came with and did a basic fast slice to start printing quality of life upgrades.. I went with a hollow tube spool holder. It lost maybe 2 threads on the half inch bridges.
I am currently printing this tiny tower like thing to guide the filament. It is about a 1/4 square column. It is about 4 inches tall so far and it is still perfect.
Anyway enough rambling... My question...
Inside the base there is a blinding blue led blinking about 4 times a second when it prints... Is there anyway to disable that without hardware mods (maybe an eprom value?). The only mention I've heard of the light at all is sometime it is red. I find it rather annoying. Maybe even to the point of returning the printer..
I may just take a sharpie to it if it is not surface mount. Then again would a sharpje hurt smd?
