Topic: Slic3r question, head printerhead goes through layers.

How do you set the distance between head and layer in slic3r?
i am having a problem with the head smearing out fillament when traveling from one side to another, or to another object.
Is this only due to layer height or?
I have calibrated the filament speed according to Ians example, my value is 112.

Re: Slic3r question, head printerhead goes through layers.

Did you also do the flow rate test to see where to set the Extrusion Multiplier?  Usually tracking like that is from too much flow, so the threads squish together too much which causes those ridges high enough to catch on the nozzle.

Print a small box with 1 perimeter and 0 fill.  Make sure Add Extra Perimeters when needed is unchecked.  Set all the thread widths to .42 and print the box, stopping before it does the top.  When you measure the wall thickness, it should be within .02 or so of .42mm  If not, adjust the multiplier up or down to get compensate, using the ration between what you wanted, and what printed.

I you have already done this, try boosting the nozzle size to .38 or .39 and see if that helps.

hello
i want to print a hollow object with no infill.
where i can change the Wall thickness ?
and what is the value to change for the infill % ? ( if i want to reduce the infill for example for less weight)
