Topic: Help needed with software

Hi new to 3d printing.I have a few problems. First the xyz maker software just stopped working.I have reloaded the software three times and it only printed once.not sure what is wrong.so downloaded simpily3d software which worked ok for a few bits.now it says the parts are in the wrong format to print.can anyone help me out.thanks

Not sure if I can help or not, but a bit more information might help your cause.

1. are there any errors?
2. Are you sure you are loading the correct file into the software? (you have to load the stl file)
3. What version of the software are you using?

Hi.I am loading stl file into the simplify 3d software.it shows ok.forms a ffs file.but then just will not send to the printer.keeps saying wrong format.the software is all new

The FFS file is just the settings file for that job or any job until you change it, save it as another name and so on. The actual file that goes to the printer is gcode file and it is generated in the background. I do not drive my printer directly with Simplify3d but instead safe the output file to an sdcard and print from that. Does XYZ talk to the printer and can you control the printer through the printer control window Simplify3D?

Hi. The xyz maker just freezes when you try to import a part.only worked once. The simplify software talks to the printer.the printer then looks like its working but know printed part when it stops.

Post the file you are working with if you can. It may be too big for the stock software or it may have issues like being none manifold which will also cause the stock software to spazz out.
