Topic: PEI sheet

Who uses them?

I changed to a different filament and the part came loose half way, any thoughts?  How important is cleaning the sheet after each use?  Some people have suggested de-greasing after each print...

Re: PEI sheet

I use rubbing alcohol to clean the sheet on our TAZ5 every dozen prints or so, but we don't print much ABS on it, really just PETG. What kind of filament are you using?

Re: PEI sheet

I print with ABS all the time, and as long as bed is hot and the first layer is close enough, the print never lifts from the bed. No brim needed.
The secret is that I sanded my sheet a while back to increase the grip. It makes print removal harder if you don't wait for the bed to fully cool down, but it is worth having one less issue to worry about.
That being said, I still have to wipe it down if it get a significant amount of mineral oil, hot glue, etc. spilled on it. That's how I learned NOT to soak the filament filter, just a few drops from a syringe will do.
