Topic: Probably a dumb question... but

This is probably a dumb question but I need to know. I use my lap top with a USB connection to my Da Vinci pro printer. My question is, after the file is loaded to the printer and the print has started printing, can I disconnect the USB cable from my lap top without disrupting the printing process?

I don't know the answer but can think of a quick way to find out.  I'm sure someone with the answer will chime in soon.

yeah I was thinking of just starting a print and disconnecting it and find out but in the middle of a long print right now. Will probably try it when this print is done.

just disconnected the usb from my computer during a print and it is still printing. Just answered my question.

Re: Probably a dumb question... but

my computer went into windows 10 update mode part way through a print, and the print carried on and completed (before the win 10 update finished too).

Re: Probably a dumb question... but

Yes, you can safely unplug the usb connector once the print has started. I have done this many times.

Re: Probably a dumb question... but

The exception to this is on a Da Vinci that has been modded with  RAMPS or other controller. They all live stream the data to the printer and will fail if disconnected.

The only dumb questions are those not asked.
