Topic: Adjusting Z-Stop in Repetier

I wanted to start out my thanking everyone who's involved in this forum.  The information I've gathered from your posts has been invaluable.  I have an annoyance with adjusting the Z-stop in Repetier.  I'm new to this so forgive me for my ignorance.  I was trying to decrease the initial gap between the extruder and the bed...I turned the Z-stop screw a little and, under manual control, hit the +Z 1mm button followed by the -Z 10mm button to find the new Z-stop position.  It hits the Z-stop and shows a negative value for the Z-stop in the log window.  If I hit the -Z button again, it actually moves the bed back to 0 (which is too far from the bed).  And round and round we go...I cannot get the bed any closer to the extruder.  What am I missing?

Thank you very much...is that some calibration command or something?

Very strange, it should not be. Try this: turn the printers power off (this will remove the voltage on motors), then manually rotate the axis Z. After the power again, make homing Z axis again. Maybe just a hexagon which you rotate Z-stop screw, is slipped?

Re: Adjusting Z-Stop in Repetier

The last time you homed, it set that position to 0.  Then when you adjusted the Z stop to go closer to the nozzle, it went past that 0 position into negative values.  If you want the new position to read as 0, simply use the Z Home button rather than manually running it up to Z.  Hitting the endstop doesn't reset the coordinates, only homing does.
