Topic: 0.1 mm Printing

Hey,

I attached picture with my print test.
The right one was printed at 0.1 mm and the left at 0.3 mm.
As you can see the 0.3 looks much better than the 0.1 and at the top of the right owl you can see some holes.
The settings in Slicer:
Layer height: 0.1 mm
First layer height: 0.3 mm
Perimeters: 2
Solid layers: 2
Fill density: 0.2
All speeds are 50 mm/s except bridges that are 70 mm/s
Default extrusion width: 35 mm
Retraction: Length 1.5 mm; Speed 30 mm/s

What settings I should change to make it better?
Thanks

Re: 0.1 mm Printing

The main problem is not enough perimeters and not enough solid layers.  There should be a minimum of 3 each, more for the owl since there are those gentle slopes on the log and shoulders.  I don't know how Slic3r calculates the thread width, but it is probably narrower by default for .1mm layers.  Set the thread widths to .35 and that will also help with the gapping.

How long did the .1mm owl take?

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow.

The 0.1mm owl took about 3 and a half hours to print.
I scaled it down a lot, not remember how much but the current height is 74mm

Hi, I've got a solidoodle 2 on the way, and I was just wondering how these changes turned out for you?
