Topic: General Maintenance

OK, so I am up to 150 hours or so on the machine now. It is working pretty good and I don't have any real problems to speak of. I am now wondering  about the life span of some of the parts on the machine.

I check the belts regularly and they seam to be good, still tight and springy.
I am using bicycle type, Teflon grease on the bars and bearings, making sure that I wipe off the excess that gathers at the ends of the movement.

I check to make sure that the end stops haven't moved.

I am always listening for new noises.

I am finding that on a longer print, there will be sections that are near perfect, except for one line that will be out of register. I recently did a box that was 30mm tall ...every 4th or 5th line was out a bit, and the rest were great.

Can the bearings be adjusted? I find there is a bit of vertical movement in the print head, as if a bearing was a bit loose.

That's it for now.

Re: General Maintenance

I think that you could be right ... that is the only part of the printer that I can move ... not a lot of movement, but it is there. How does one fix this?
