Topic: Flexible printing

I have read many topics regarding using flexible filament on Da Vinci 1.0a. Most of the same issues seem to be with filament melting and getting caught in extruder feed tube. Couldn't this be solved by adding another bolt on top of the existing bolt as a heat sink. Haven't tried it as of yet, but was just looking for feedback

Thanks

Re: Flexible printing

I have my doubts about this tbh.
There are a few things stopping a stock Davinci printing flexi.

1. The stock idler doesn't provide enough grip. I'm using a printed idler with bearings which works well.
2. Too big a gap between the extruder gears and where the filament enters the hotend. You'll need to fit something to reduce the gap as much as possible to prevent buckling.
3. The stock hotend just isn't up to the job. You'll need to switch to an E3D or similar.

Re: Flexible printing

Not bad at all !
I'd be interested to see if you can print larger stuff with it.

Re: Flexible printing

i've tried bi-material but it's tricky, pla and ABS do not stick well on flexible layers
gotta improve mecanical bonding
