Topic: Best/Easiest E3DV6 mod for 1.0

What is the current best/easiest method of installing an E3DV6 in the 1.0?  I have had one of each (printer & hot end) laying around for a while not doing anything and thought I would try to get it running again (I have added other printers to my inventory since and quit using the 1.0 for a while).

Probably the easiest  way to mount an ed3 is  mounting it to a titan extruder.
There has been a fair bit of discussion about this.

Soliddoodle 4 stock w glass bed------Folger Tech Prusa 2020 upgraded to and titan /aero extruder mirror bed
FT5 with titan/ E3D Aero------MP mini select w glass bed
MP Utimate maker pro-W bondtech extruder
Marlin/Repetier Host/ Slic3r and Cura

Yeah, that's pretty much how I did it.
Although I didn't bother taking the carriage off, just made the cuts with it in place.

Thanks, I think I will order a Titan and try it then.

They largely say it's the easiest because of this:

You'll still need to print that.  It replaces your carriage entirely (you'll need the bushings and the circuit board).  The Titan also lets you print TPU filaments / NinjaFlex.

Otherwise everyone seems to use this (OSM's video):

Already printed it, just waiting on the Titan to get here.

Re: Best/Easiest E3DV6 mod for 1.0

So I printed this carriage http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1634298 but some how i thought  I should remove the clip for the belt holder since that part didnt print exactly right on one side.. OPPS. anyway to fix that without printing a new carriage? I spend a lot of time removing the supports cause i wasn't sure if it would print right without them. then i cleaned up the part with sandpaper, a rasp and did an vapor bath and it looks nice. first print btw that finished. I really don't want to print for another 7 hours... jsut to go to the hassle again. any ideas?

Re: Best/Easiest E3DV6 mod for 1.0

I recently designed an E3D mount which also replaces the extruder assembly in one piece which gets rid of all the metal parts making it much lighter ....... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1723817
