Topic: Solidoodle 4 for sale, highly modded w/ RUMBA, Volcano hot end, +more

For sale is my highly modified and well built Solidoodle 4.  This 3D printer is fully calibrated and in excellent mechanical condition.  It is a reliable machine and the only reason I am selling is to finance my next project.  Here is a summary of all the mods and enhancements to this machine:

1. E3D Volcano hot end with 0.6mm nozzle installed.  Hobb goblin drive gear.
2. RUMBA motherboard, genuine from reprap discount with DRV8825 drivers.  A large fan is mounted over the board.  I will even include some spare drivers.
3. 8mm Y drive rod with high quality roller bearings from McMaster mounted in the frame.  These have completely eliminated all Y skip that you sometimes get with the stock machines and 6mm Y drive rods.
4. All GT2 belts, quality 8mm chromed hardened rods from folger tech, and bearings.  No stock bushings.
5. Y carriages are the ones Pirvan designed.  Lawsy X carriage with the hot end mount that securely clamps the hot end in.
6. Both X and Y motors have been upgraded from the stock models to better models from OMC stepper online for additional torque.
7. Y idlers are my own design (based on Pirvan's) that allow you to tension these with an allen driver to get perfect belt tension.
8. Y direct drive is my own design to integrate with the 8mm roller bearings.  This eliminates all Y backlash.
9. Upgraded PSU bolted securely to the back of the printer.
10. Entire frame nicely painted black for a better looking machine.
11. 8mm metal rod for the spool holder (about all the stock rods were good for).
12. Compressible nut on the 5/16” Z rod to minimize backlash, although I don't really feel like it was necessary.

This is basically the ultimate solidoodle printer, and the way I believe they should have made them all.  No cheap components here.  Asking $500 obo plus shipping, which is a very fair deal seeing as stock Sd4s go for about $350 on ebay all day long.  If you were to source all this yourself, it would probably be over $900 and dozens of hours of time to put it all together.  I want to sell it, but I don't need to sell it so please don't waste my time with low ball offers.  Shipping will probably about $60- $80 for UPS ground and because I have to buy a box since it won't fit in the stock box any more due to the direct Y drive.  Buyers option to add shipping insurance and all sales are final, please.  Thanks for looking.
