Topic: Da Vinci 1.0A E3D V6 thermocouple upgrade

Hi!

I've just installed the E3D V6 into my Da Vinci 1.0a which runs Repetier and I need to order a new thermistor because the first one is broken.

However, they incorrectly sent me the PT100 block in the first place and they said I could keep it.

Is the PT100 thermocouple compatible with the Da Vinci 1.0a? It mentions that it needs a spare analogue input pin and an amplifier.

The Da Vinci will not support a thermocouple directly. You will need an analog board that can convert the signal from the thermocouple to a compatible signal the Da Vinci board can use. Your best option would be to see if you can mount the thermistor in some way to the new block. You could get a screw that fit the thermocouples mount and drill the screw out so the thermistor could be put inside it then sealed with high temp RTV or JBweld if more permanency is desired.

PT100 is not a thermocouple, it is an RTD sensor.

You would need a PT100 amplifier board and to reflash your firmware in order to use the PT100 setup.

Wondering if you ever got this figured out? I have a Pt100 with the amplifier but I don't know where the amplifier would connect. I have the pinout.xlsx but can't figure out where would the best place to attempt connecting it. Help would be greatly appreciated

You could probably use an M3 mounted thermistor and screw it into the set screw hole for the PT100.

I'm sorry. What I meant was where would I connect it on my Da vinci mobo? I don't see any free analog pins on the board. Nor can I figure out which 5v or ground to use on the board. Crazy thing is, I know someone else has done this but I have yet to find them
