3D Printer won't extrude filament

It seems that my printer is not extruding filament. I have a da Vinci 1.0 that I just got a few months ago. Currently it's running repetier. As I try to load the filament, it makes a repetitive clicking sound and won't take the filament. It thinks that it's loaded correctly, but it's not extruding one bit. How do I unclog it without dismantling it? I don't have much experience taking them apart. Any household items I could use to fix it?
