Topic: A few questions for DaVinci 2.0 Duo owners:

I am considering purchasing the 2.o duo, so:

Can each extruder nozzle access all of the baseplate? If I wanted to print with the right hand extruder color could I do it as far over to the left as the left hand extruder can reach?

Has anyone used Simplify3D as your slicer for the 2.0Duo? Does it make proper use of the two extruders? I have it set up for my DaVinci 1.0A and the license allowed for installation on two computers so...

Also, overall, any unusual issues unique to the Duo as opposed to the 1.0 and Pro?


Extra question on Simplify3D: Does anyone know when it will be compatible with the DaVinci Pro 1.0? I have one of those as well.

1.

Yes, the Duo has a smaller build area than the 1.0 to allow full travel,

2. I use S3D but with hacked firmware. But I'm pretty sure S3D has full profiles for the 2.0, so I would assume yes. And Just so you know, the license is for two computers, not two printers. You can use it on as many printers as you want, but you can only have the software installed on two computers max.

I may just go ahead and order the Duo. Should I bite the bullet and order that spare dual extruder set now as well? My 1.0A has the original extruder and I noticed that the replacement unit appears to have a more pointed nozzle. I've been tempted to replace mine to see if the longer nozzle makes for better prints.

had to get Newegg involved to warranty the main board. 2 months it took them to fix the problem. Unfortunately I bought a 3 year warranty through Newegg so I'm trying not to flash it. XYZware sucks at slicing and produces embarrassing prints.
