Topic: Da Vinci 1.0 Pro calibration issue

since im getting no help from customer service i figured id ask the community. when i run the calibration, the head wont move far enough forward for the peg to the left of the nozzle to make contact with the metal plates on the front. Latest firmware (as instructed TWICE from customer service). i havent adjusted anything, no x-axis shift...it simply wont go far enough to make contact.

any thoughts?

Re: Da Vinci 1.0 Pro calibration issue

http://soliforum.com/i/?98oou8V.jpgI had a similar issue when I first got my Pro.  Are you getting "Calibration failed" messages after the head moves to the front left/right corner during calibration?  It's probably due to a misalignment of the y-axis.  If you turn off the printer and manually move the head all the way to the front of the printer as far as it can go, check that the black plastic mount holding the x-axis rod is touching the white pulley wheel on both sides.  In my case, the left mount was touching, but the right mount fell short.  To fix it, the XYZ tech told me just to tug gently on the right mount until it lined up with the left side and touched the pulley as shown in the attached pic.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0 Pro calibration issue

Turn off your machine and then pull the extruder towards you all the way to the front.
The black parts holding on to the rails should both be touching the white wheels... I bet on yours there is a gap on one side.
here is how to fix it.

With the machine still off...
Remove the right side cover.
Loosen the screws on the right/front side of the machine which I think is for the spring tension on the belt your having issues with.
Now while the screws are loose, push the extruder all the way back and then pull the extruder all the way to the front.
The belts are properly aligned if the black parts holding on to the rails on both sides are both touching the white wheels in the front.
Now you can tighten those screws back up, reinstall the side cover and turn on the machine.

See if this fixes your issue.
