Topic: Da Vinci 1.0 not working

Greetings! I am new to this forum, but I was hoping to get some help with my Da Vinci 1.0. I have had it for about a year, but a couple of months ago it shut off during a print and wouldn't turn back on. I finally have time to work on it. I took some measurements from the power supply and found that there was something up with the 12v-5v-3.3v-Ground connector. I replaced the power supply with a Solid Gear 320W mini supply (http://www.amazon.com/Solid-Gear-320-Wa … B00A8ZZXFE). Now, when I measure all of the voltages using a breadboard, everything looks fine. However, when I plug it in to the motherboard, the 3.3V, 5V, and 12V LEDs light up briefly before turning off. The fan sounds like it starts to spin then shuts off. When I try to measure the voltages on the 12v-5v-3.3v-Ground connector again, they all read zero. Furthermore, if I measure the 12v-12v-ground-ground connector while the other connector is unplugged, those voltages are fine. If I measure it with both connectors plugged in, it also reads zero.

I am not an electronics person, so I apologize if this is something super obvious that I am missing. I would really appreciate any suggestions/input!

You have a power to ground short somewhere on the 5 or 3.3 volt lines.. If it was on the 12 line it would blow the zero ohm resistors on the board.. So unplug the power supply from the board and measure resistance between ground and the 3.3 line and ground and the 5 volt line.. They both should be 150 ohms or more. if less than you have found the one shorted and just need to find why.

Thanks for the advice! I measured the resistances like you suggested, and the 3.3v line has a 22 ohm resistance and the 5v line a 50 ohm resistance. So it seems like both have an issue. I am not quite sure what to look for to find the short, but I will look into it. If anyone has tips though, I would appreciate it!
