Topic: DaVinci 1.0 not working on W10... HELP PLEASE!

I recently purchased a DaVinci 1.0 (grey) running on the "J" firmware and modded with the XYZerocart from WCTEK from my brother. The unit was working absolutely fine for him on his Windows 7 computer. I can not seem to get windows 10 to read this device. No matter what I have tried, I continue to get "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" in my hardware settings? It's like Windows 10 does not want to recognize this device, despite being loaded with the latest W10 drivers from XYZ? Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Also note, I have tried both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports on my computer (all 12 of them)

You'll want to flash repetier firmware eventually.  W10 might be forcing your hand earlier.

I would have to ask my brother to do this, due to the fact that I do not have anything but my W10 computer. Do you think flashing the repetier firmware will fix the W10 USB driver problem i'm having or will W10 still not want to recognize it through the USB?

Hard to tell.  Good news is you can possibly go back to stock if is an older 1.0.

With repetier you can print from SD and avoid windows drivers.

If memory serves me correctly, you can print from sd card with the stock firmware too.
But you'll need to be able to access the card with either and sd extension cable or wireless sd card.
